M.K Ajay is a poet, editor, corporate leader and teacher of Compassion Based Resilience Training (CBRT) based in Hong Kong. He is the author of three books of poems, including Clawing into Water’s Skin (Poetrywala, Mumbai). He co-edited Map of Morning (Dhauli Books), an international poetry anthology, along with Manu Dash. He is the Associate Editor of anām: the journal of international writing and co-curator of the Odisha Art & Literature Festival. His paintings and poems were featured in Mladé Topole (Slovakia) as digital installations. He is completing his debut novel and working on two cross-disciplinary international poetry anthologies. The first anthology will interpret the contributors’ poems via philosophy of mind and cognitive science while the second will explore the interplay between creativity and the poet’s contemplative-philosophical praxis. Ajay was born and grew up in Kozhikode, Kerala. He is academically trained in psychology, management, neuroscience and Buddhist philosophy. He served as a director and board member at Colgate Palmolive Asia Pacific previously and is currently the Group Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at the Swire Group.
